9-11-2021 Let us turn our minds back...20 years...
It's early in the morning. You tur on your PC & go to Yahoo, the biggest site of the day. Nthing unusual; it looks to be a nice, normal day in the late summer or early fall. You go to CNN.com, to see what's happening in the world, & see it. Someoen's crashed an airplane into one of teh Twin Towers in New York City. What a terrible accident. You go about your work, then check back. "9:03 a.m.: A second plane, apparently a passenger jet, crashes into the second World Trade Center tower and explodes. Both buildings are burning." This was not an accidnet? "9:43 a.m.: An aircraft crashes into the Pentagon, sending up a huge plume of smoke. Evacuation begins immediately." This was an coordinated attack? One of the towers collapses; another airliner crashes in Pennsylvania; part of the Pentagon collapses; the other Tower falls. What's happening? Why? CNN Timeline, of 9/11, made on 9/11/2021
CNN Homepage, from that day
Yahoo.com's Updated Homepage Their News Page & Other Coverage.

9-10-2021 Old-Site of the Day: Euroseek.com, on this date, in 2001 Has a search engine, directory, & news headlines.

9-9-2021 AltaVista.com, on this date, in 2001 AltaVista was the largest search engine in the world at the time. I like the portal they set up; it's nice & clear & uncluttered. They were eventually bought by Yahoo & shut down when Yahoo decided to buy results from Bing.

9-8-2021 Old-Site of the Day: Netscape.com, on this date, in 2001 A bit cluttered. I like it, but I think Yahoo, Go, & Lite.Excite had better layots.

9-7-2021 Old-Site of the Day: GO.com, on this date, in 2001 Disney's old Yahoo competitor. Had news, a search engine, etc.

9-3-2021 Old-Site of the Day: AOL.com, on this date, in 2001. Nice, simple sign-in page, with a directory.

9-1-2021 Old Site of the Day: Yahoo, on this date, in 2001 I wish they'd go back to this layout...
